CRAU history: Okay, so short version because we don't have months. Aqua was AUed into an X-men game where she had to be from that world, so in that world she was a mutant and Ven and Terra didn't go to other worlds, they vanished through a mutant made portal in time itself. After the death of her Master and the destruction of her home, Aqua was sent to serve Master Xavier until Terra and Ven and the children they were protecting returned. They never did.
On a mission in the Black Bird, Aqua was suddenly taken and found herself stepping off the train in Ruby City. There she met people who had known her but not her. another version of her, or rather, two other versions. She learned that if she touched the Keyblade of someone she shared memories with... she got memories of their time together, of another self she didn't know. Between time with Mickey and briefly meeting a Terra and a Ven and another version of herself, she got most of them back, but there were still gaps. A lot happened there, but for the purposes of this, the most relevant, besides getting her memory back would probably be the ones that led to her death.
On one mission she was paired with a man who did not think that women should be protectors. He was allergic to the sun, and got badly hurt. He refused to let Aqua heal him, and insisted that they just rest until sunset. Knowing he would hurt himself worse trying to get between her and danger, she left as soon as he fell asleep and finished the mission. He never forgave her for that.
She fell out of Ruby City for a while and wound up in the realm of Darkness, wondering which version of herself was real. Which memories were true. They were so tangled that she was no longer sure.
And then she found a Light and followed it... Back to Ruby City. Except the City was different than when she left it. The world itself was dying. As it died it was opening portals of Light to other worlds. She helped those she could to escape, and then she found him again. The man who never forgave her. He was hiding from the spreading light. She offered to help him, he refused. He said no matter where he went there was a chance he would fall into a brightly lit world and die, so he might as well just die here. She tried many times to save him, begged him, pleased with him, offered her armor. Offered to take him through the darkness between worlds to find a world that would suit him. But he would rather die than be saved by a woman. And she couldn't abandon someone, not when there was a chance he could save his life. So the world died... and took them with it.
She found herself in Shibuya (TWEWY) after she died. She was emotionally broken. Every memory of Terra and Ven she had were of them being gone. She failed to save someone because he'd rather die than let her help him. And the Darkness had begun to get to her. She was ready to just accept her fate.
Thankfully, Link was not. She wound up partnering with the Hero Of Time in the Reaper's game. She regained more and more of herself, fighting along side him. And seeing more and more people fall and be erased, she became more and more determined to save them all and end this game. She and Link won, but... TWEWY. She was returned to life. Right back where she would have been. The Realm Of Darkness.
But this time she had new reason to fight, to get back out. Link was still trapped there. Rhyme was still trapped there. They needed her. She had never realized how much she needed to be needed. It gave her the power to fight back the Darkness... literal and figurative.
The Wayfinders were an unbreakable connection... She used that. Used them to follow the connection between herself and Ven. The Ven she found wasn't exactly either of the Vens in her memories. But he was Ven. Finally. She was able to rouse him - more proof this was a different Ven - and together they were able to follow the connection to find Terra. Terra was from a different point in time than either of them, and the friends reunited. Different versions, but at the core the same hearts. Touching their Keyblades, she filled in even more gaps of memories, and then she filled them in on her adventures. Together they went back to Shibuya to save Link and Rhyme and end the game once and for all.
The day was won, not by weapons and war, but by connections and compromise, and by a sneaky barista who might have given them a few more hints than he ought. The price of victory was not measured in lives lost, but in a painful promise. Aqua and Link were to never return to Shibuya again.
Tearful goodbyes were said then Link returned to his home and Aqua tried to return with Terra and Ven but instead found herself pulled back to the Darkness. She fought and struggled and as she did she saw a bright blue Light. She followed it and came out in Planet Speed with no memories of other versions of her, or her checkered past. She remembered a far simpler path as if it was all there had ever been.
So she did what Aqua does most in an un familiar situation. She tried to find her friends. Following the connection in her heart to Ven she found someone else instead, someone whose heart was very close to Ven's. Roxas. And Xion. Very swiftly Aqua came to care for the unlikely new friends. Came to love them. She 100% adopted them as her new siblings. But... she wasn't the only one. Prompto and Noctis and Gladio and their friends also adopted in the pair. Especially Roxas. Together they made an odd family, and went by the name Team Warp Strike. While with them Aqua and Prompto made wayfinders for the group, Aqua learned never to let Roxas drive ANYTHING unless the goal was to crash it, and they helped a robot girl find her heart. But perhaps the most dramatic happened when Xion passed out... and then vanished. Dropping everything, Team Warp Strike went looking for their missing friend. They finally found her in the lab of an evil scientist named Vexen who was trying to turn her into Chihiro as a way of enslaving another friend of theirs, a dragon who went by Kohaku.
They freed Xion, but the process had begun and she was losing who she was under the force of the copy of Chihiro's personality. It took them all remind Xion of who she was, and why they loved her to solidify Xion back in her own skin. Aqua was the only one who noticed the Darkness taking advantage of their distraction, but since it was only aiming at her, she put it off, focusing on helping Xion.
So of course just as Xion stabilized the Darkness attacked in earnest. Vexen had been playing with more than replicas and copies of personalities. He had been tapping into the Darkness himself. And he had found something terrible there. Darqua. A dark version of Aqua.
The battle was terrible. And as it drew on, longer and longer, Aqua realized that it was getting its power from her directly. So she decided that the best way to save her new family... was to throw herself into the Darkness and drag it down with her.
Thankfully she was stopped, but it did let the others know that the connection was the problem. With that new info the tide of battle swiftly turned and Dark Aqua was banished, Aqua remaining. There might have been some... arguments after that about the various members of Team Warp Strike who kept trying to kill themselves to save others. They all agreed that none of them wanted their friends to be martyrs, and yet...
Finally the lanes between worlds opened again and they could leave. Noctis brought Roxas and Xion home so Roxas could be the heir after him and they could live with him. Aqua went with and stayed for a while, training the kids. Then she planned a trip, leaving instructions with the others for protecting Roxas and Xion. She knew they wanted their friend Axel with them and she had to find Terra and Ven. So.... Basically an AU of the ending of KH III that involved giving Xion a gummi ship with orders that Roxas was never allowed to drive it, and gathering many heroes to win the day.
Meanwhile, a data version of Aqua had been extracted at the same moment she had been drawn from the Darkness to Planet Speed. In the Dataverse, Aqua once more - having only canon memories - tried to find Ven and Terra. This time the pull brought her to... Sora. Whom she adopted almost at once, and who kept showing hints of Ven as they talked... and trained.
In the Dataverse, Aqua and Sora and their new friend Tanks worked as a team to basically solve their parts of the plot with friendship. Seriously, they friended at villains and brought them back to their true good selves. Also there was a terminator style fan fic about a truck called Truck-kun that they got trapped inside of when they offered help to a talking paperclip. That was... a thing that happened.
In the end, by the combined powers of friendship, Wayfinders, the connection between hearts, and the command board, they helped Angiwoman and Deviwomon reconnect and the dataverse was saved. They were all able to go back to the files for their own worlds. But of course we know nothing is ever that simple. Trunks came and helped with the end of Kingdom Hearts plot stuff. Then once everything settled, data Aqua uploaded a copy of her memories to flesh Aqua.
This hit as Aqua and planet Speed Aqua had been holding each others' Keyblades to share memories. Which one of them accidentally absorbed the other... the world may never know.
Somewhere in here (I think it was between the LARPs so Aqua had no memory of the LARPs yet, but I'm not 100% sure) Aqua landed in SMK. She joined near the end of the game, so not too terribly much happened there on the scale of the rest of this, other than learning a new form of magic. Always useful.
Then, sent adrift again from there, she once more sought out her missing friends. First she found Sora and had an adventure with him where they found and woke Ven and then started systematically taking back their home from the Organization, one room at a time, while refusing to play the Org's games. Or rather, Aqua wouldn't let the others use the cards on offer.
Aqua spent a lot of time in that one trying to curb Sora's recklessness and hide the truth about Terra from Ven. But eventually she had to yield to that realty’s version of her, lest she merge again.
She tried once more to find her friends. This time she wound up on a Romulan ship, where Xion had just been... There she fought heartless and met Enki for the first time. Everyone else was gone. Together they tracked down the Darkness she had sensed. Gantu. They dealt with Gantu and she got to meet Stitch's Ohana when they came to take him away. There were more adventures there. In no particular order: Encountering Xion and Roxas again. Trying to get Axel out from under the Org's thumb, which lead to Xigbar dumping them in the Keyblade Graveyard, requiring them to get help from someone who had a gummi ship. And, you know, encountering a pirate who decided to take Enki's ship for herself. The pirate called herself Khell - not her actual name - and Aqua was able to talk her out of stealing the ship. Khell's Ai friend, Rren helped Aqua and Roxas to take down MCP in the computer systems. With help from Squall and Cid not only did they get MCP out of there, but they got Rren a body. Khell basically decided that Xion and Roxas were hers now. (And Enki, but she didn't say that part out loud. Much) Aqua realized that with all the Darkness being drawn there, the only way to protect the world was to seal it. Enki, Khell, and Rren decided to come with her.
Once they left their world, they went to Traverse Town to get Merlin's help sending them to the datascape where Aqua knew an alternate of her was there. The point to the trip was so that they could get a copy of the data that Sora needed back from Roxas and Xion so he could be awoken without harming them. She took Naminé with them so that Naminé could talk with her other self and learn what needed to be done. What Aqua didn't know was that the Naminé's swapped places. The one fromt he datascape wanted to give her other self a chance to truly live and be free as soon as possible. Where as she knew that going back with Aqua would mean that she would have to go into Kairi, but that was okay. She didn't tell Aqua until they were back in Traverse Town and there was no other choice but to continue with the plan.
Lots of little mini adventures, encounters with Riku, and such. Aqua came back with Ven and Sora, both awake, and they made their base camp in the 100 Acre Woods.
Thus followed a lot of training, some squabbling, and some... uncomfortable reunions. For some odd reason... Axel and Khell weren't super fond of Riku. Sora couldn't understand why, of course. Kairi was adjusting to Naminé, because this Naimné knew more and was able to communicate a small bit with Kairi and, more importantly, give Kairi ALL of her memories. Which Aqua does NOT know. She has hints, but doesn't know for sure that Kairi knows how that version of the war ended.
Aqua tried hard to be the leader, to train everyone and get everyone ready for the coming fight. The group - Khell, Rren, Enki, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Ven, Axel, Roxas, and Xion - was a very mixed group. They had clashes and different strengths and weaknesses, and while Aqua did know how to train to that, as things took longer and longer she started to fear that they were losing the whole advantage they had and had to move faster. Which led to her dropping her better training methods in favor of trying to get everyone on the same page. Which was a disaster of hurt feelings, wounded egos, and bruised skin.
So Aqua, being Aqua, decided to try and take on Xehanort and his army all on her own. But Aqua being Aqua wanted to make sure that everyone was okay. So she went to make a supply run. Enki caught wind of her plan and went with her, planning to talk to hr. But Rren was there and then they found Shale and brought her in. It all came to a head and... yeah. That was a bad time, lots of hurt feelings. But they went back to the group and discussed. And a new plan was crafted. Aqua would help with training, but she wasn't the leader. That would be Mickey. Y'know, the actual king? Anyway, while they were trying to figure out a battle plan and were split into small groups Q showed up to harass Enki and wound up kidnapping him, Ven, Shale, Axel, Khell, Rren, Sora, and Kairi. He dropped them in Wonderland and then kidnapped Sora separately to try and make them interesting. Ven used his Keyblade glider to go get Aqua and a gummi ship so they could get everyone home.
Unfortunately in the time it took Ven to go get Aqua, Q had zapped them all to the Descendants world, and the people that Aqua had connections to.... are all on the Isle. Undetectable due to the shield.
And that.... bring us to here. She was in a Gummi ship with backup, trying to find their missing friends.
Please list and explain the three worst (morally) things your character has ever done in canon: Okay so two of these are going to seem on the surface mutually exclusive, but they're actually quite connected. Please bear with me...
1. She didn't trust her friends enough. She couldn't get past seeing Ven as someone to be protected. She didn't trust Terra enough to tell him what their Master said. She didn't just stop and talk to them any of the times she caught up with them. Ven especially. She should have listened to him, and trusted him.
2. She trusted her friends waaay too much. (See what I mean?) She was so trapped into her "Terra would never do that!" mindset. And expected Ven to just do as he was told. She saw them too much as they had been, and not enough as they were. The same went for other people as well. She trusted Master Xehanort because her Master did. She didn't question. So I guess it isn't so much trust as... well in both cases, she couldn't see people as they actually were, too stuck on how she thought they should be. And she did more harm than good that way. (Okay so this one is less clear if you play anyone other than Aqua first. But even when she does confront Terra the first time it is in front of Ven rather than just talking to him...)
3. She was so desperate to find her friends and bring them home that she ignored other dangers and other people in need. Maybe she intended to come back to them, but who knows. She certainly never got the chance. I'd say to imagine how different things would have been if she had stopped Maleficent when Sora was still a bitty... but it is Maleficent and Kingdom Hearts, in that case at least little would have changed. Everybody's favorite dark fairy is like a weed in this series...
Please list and explain the three best (morally) things your character has ever done in canon.:
1. Dedicated her life to being a protector of the Light, being someone willing to step up and help people in need, worlds in need. She worked hard her entire life to be a protector.
2. She put her life on the line time and again to protect people. Her friends, yes. But also others, like Stitch. Ironically where she was so blinded to reality with those closest to her, she could see Stitch's truth. And Gantu's. She put herself in the path of danger multiple times to save Kairi, and she reached out to Sora and Riku. She even stayed trapped in the Darkness to let Riku and Mickey escape.
3. She created the Wayfinders, giving the strong bonds between the hearts of her friends a physical manifestation that saved them time and time again and rippled outward. Stitch made a wayfinder because Terra showed him his and explained it, as Aqua had explained to him. The Wayfinders wound up so much a part of the story going forward, and it is hard to say how much of it came directly from the fact that Aqua made those three for her, Terra, and Ven; linking their hearts forever.
Please list and explain the three worst (morally) things your character has ever done in other games:
1. So... there is a fine line between self sacrificing and being so willing to sacrifice yourself that you cause more problems than you solve. Aqua has done this. so much this. She and Gladio almost got the whole group killed at the waterfall when they were both so sure that the only way for the group to survive was to spend their lives like coin. She died in RC trying to save one person who refused to be saved when there were others who could have used her help. She created a rift in the group with the Star Trek crew when she decided to try to solo the end of KH III to protect them all. The list goes on. (Even in game, really, there was no world at all she could have landed on, hidden Terra then went for help? Really? How did leaving him helpless wherever your Keybalde took do anything good for him, Aqua?!)
2. While she had the best intentions in the world, when Kyrian (The one who thought women should be protected, not protectors) was injured and resting she decided she knew better than him (she did, but that's not the point) and she went and soloed their mission, solving it. Yes, that kept him from getting hurt worse, physically. But by not working together, she denied him the chance to challenge his own assumptions and prejudices and only made him dislike women even more. In the end with him, she then went too far the other way. Instead of saving him against his will... she simply sat down and died with him.
3. In X-institute... She lied. Well, more like she omitted an important truth. That version of Aqua was TERRIFIED of heights. She believed firmly that as a Master she couldn't let her fear stop her, so she pushed herself and did what she needed to do and swallowed her terror by hiding in her armor so no one would see how scared she was. There were times where she could have been given another assignment, or helped in some other way. Instead, she kept it to herself, did not tell people who needed to have all the information for planning purpose that there was a chance she could have a slower reaction time, or over react, because she was afraid.
Bonus round: She doesn't seem to realize that she isn't interchangeable with any other version of herself. So when she swoops in, solves the plot, then brings her other self out of the Darkness she then... leaves. Leaving behind that world's Ven and Terra and all her other friends, sure that since they have the version of her that belongs in that world, they don't need this version of her as well....
Please list and explain the three best (morally) things your character has ever done in in other games.:
1. Aqua is a teacher. In X-institute, she took on students who desperately wanted to help but... really couldn't. Not as they were. They were dubbed the weenie squad because most of them were super young and/or had weak powers or were physically weak for other reasons. She never gave up on them, though. She worked with them and protected, them and showed them love and acceptance. For some, she was the first adult to love and accept them since their mutant powers came into being. She really did love those kiddos. She adopted and loved and trained Roxas and Xion on Planet Speed and again in the trek PSL. She adopted and trained Sora in the datascape. She taught countless people how to be the best possible versions of themselves.
2. She does everything she can to help whatever world/reality she is in. Having seen the end of the KHIII plot in multiple variations now (none of them the way it actually ended in canon) she has a new perspective about things, and she tends to stay in any given world until she has solved as many of its problems as she can. Well, Light Vs Darkness problems mostly, though she will help with other problems as well.
3. She put her ego aside whenever the group needed it. When she really did think she knew best, she spoke up, yes. But when she knew that someone else was more qualified she was willing to step aside. When Ven suggested that Mickey take over leading, she didn't try to stay in power. She thanked Mickey for being willing and Ven for coming up with the idea. When she was in X-institute, she was willing to follow someone else's lead, even though she was technically a team leader herself.
Please put the twelve things above on a timeline relevant to each other:
1. Dedicated her life to being a force for good - ongoing. 2. Created the Wayfinders 3&4. Trusting her friends too much and too little. 5. Put her life on the line to help others - ongoing. 6. Ignored other dangers/prioritizing. 7. Omitted truth 8. Teacher - ongoing 9. Kyrian. 10. Self sacrificing too much - ongoing 11. helping every world now. (Lessons learned.) - Ongoing. 12. Putting her ego aside for the sake of the group. - Ongoing.
Do you consider your character a hero, an anti-hero, a good aligned side kick, a bystander, a victim, a fence sitter, a mercenary, an evil aligned side kick, a villain, or something else? Why?: Hero. Very much hero. She may make mistakes, but sh always tries to do the best she can, to be as good as possible. Even when things were at their worst, even when hate and revenge would have seemed justified to many, she never lost her Light.
Do you think your character should start on the Isle or in Auradon? Why?: Auradon. See: Hero. Light. Keyblade Master of Light, specifically.
Which of those two would you prefer your character to start in?: Auradon
Are you still interested in having this character in this game at this time if that preference is not met?: YEP!
Powers and Abilities: Got an hour? >.>
Keyblade Master with a Light focus, and strong magic. So... basically the whole KH Light side package. Acrobatic and agile. Did I mention Master? Because that also comes with a mastery over emotions very nearly all the time. Not in the Jedi way; she feels the full range and acknowledges and accepts the full range. But she does not let them control her. The only times she has come close to failing in this were to despair. But magical effects on emotions will have a harder time with her. Mystic Class powers in SMK Mutant powers from X-institue: she can absorb powers used on her/that she was hit with and use them herself. She can store I believe it was one in her self and up to four more in her Keyblade. She keeps healing stored at all times because in some worlds mutant powers are restricted but not magic, in some magic is restricted but not mutant powers. Nano-tech: also a gift of her time in X-institute. Her Keyblade, armor, and wayfinder from that world are all made with nanites that absorb into her skin and come out of her skin at need. She knows how to make these and can teach. One of her Keyblade form talks endlessly about space. Sorry about that. Oh hey, so Aqua knows how to drive now. That's neat.
What clothing/items did your character arrive with? (See rules and FAQ for what is allowed, feel free to ask if you are unsure): Her basic usual KH gear with her Keyblades and two sets of armor - Keyblade armor and nanites. All her Keyblades have the turn into a glider option. She also has Master Eraqus' Keyblade from the X-institute world. In her hammerspace pockets she has some food and water, healing potions, eather, munny, and a metric ton of differently designed wayfinders, along with tools to make more.
Optional- What do you have to keep in mind when playing this character?:
For as amazing as Aqua is, and how much she has seen with all her CRAU... she still does not actually know the true ending of KHIII. The version of her dark self she fought on Planet Speed is very different from the dark self she would have fought if she hadn't been ripped from canon and flung about the multiverse. In other words, what she knows is.. in part, at least, wrong. And she does not realize this.
Also... I need to remember to have her use the Space Keyblade more. It is freaking hilarious.
What mod candy, if any, does your character bring? (Aka what elements would you really like to see us play with?): She's Aqua. >.>
What else do you think the mods should know about your character or their canon?: I mean... you already know.
Putting who all she has met in CRAU land in its own post. For reasons that totally aren't me having forgotten to put it in sooner.
Alt versions of pretty much every KH character ever. She's met like... three of Sora and over a half dozen of Ven. Even ones she is only implied to have met in BBS like Merlin and Pooh Bear, or ones she hadn't met yet by her fall into Darkness.
Enki, Khell, Rren. These are relevant because Enki is in game and Khell and Rren may be apped soon.
Link from the LoZ games.
Tenma, Vinti, Ken from X-insitute, along with Prof. Xavier, Beast... a lot of other students and teachers. I appologize but it has been YEARS. Zancrow. Fai. Feliks. Liir. Alec. Filk. Krista. Sandry. There were so many. She was very social in that game. Among students I played so her connection was hand waved at best - Tiamaris. Gregory Deegan. Rhianon. Eli.
Most of the reapers from TWEWY. Also Neku, Eri, Mr. H, Beat, and Rhyme.
Marinette from Miraculous, but an AU version of her.
Henry and Mr. Gold from OUAT. (Also hand waved Bae from OUAT cause I played him).
Howl and Sophie from Howls Moving Castle.
Trunks from Dragonball
Angiwoman and Deviwoman.
Clippy. As in the paperclip from Microsoft. And thanks to him, Truck-kun. I am seriously not joking.
A bunch of FF characters including Notctis, Gladio, and Prompto. She might have spent a while making Wayfinders with Prompto for all of Team Warp Strike.
It is 4 am. I am sure there are others I am missing. Just... I have been playing her for years. I think I got all the ones likely to come up in game at least.

Part 2
Date: 2022-11-07 08:10 am (UTC)Thankfully, Link was not.
Part 3
Date: 2022-11-07 08:42 am (UTC)Please list and explain the three worst (morally) things your character has ever done in canon:
Okay so two of these are going to seem on the surface mutually exclusive, but they're actually quite connected.
2. Created the Wayfinders
3&4. Trusting her friends too much and too little.
5. Put her life on the line to help others - ongoing.
6. Ignored other dangers/prioritizing.
7. Omitted truth
8. Teacher - ongoing
9. Kyrian.
10. Self sacrificing too much - ongoing
11. helping every world now.
Powers and Abilities:
Got an hour?
Mystic Class powers in SMK
Mutant powers from X-institue: she can absorb powers used on her/that she was hit with and use them herself.
Any questions?:
(no subject)
Date: 2022-11-07 09:19 am (UTC)Alt versions of pretty much every KH character ever.
Beetlejuice. Scorpia. Clu. Bitty Leia. Zeki. Shadow Weaver. Harry Potter. Rice.
It is 4 am. I am sure there are others I am missing. Just... I have been playing her for years. I think I got all the ones likely to come up in game at least.
